MOVIE REVIEW: AGNEEPATH

Today I bring to you the review of a bollywood movie which claims that it will save the sinking ship that is bollywood. AGNEEPATH which was released on Republic Day is the remake of the 1990 classic of the same name. Does it live up to its old glory or does it fall short.? Find out below.

WHAT ITS ABOUT: The story revolves around Vijay(Hritik Roshan) who is a kid from a small island town Mandva. Much like the old movie, the villain Kancha China(Sanjay Dutt) kills Vilay's father which sends Vilay on a quest for revenge. Priyanka Chopra plays Kaali, the love interest. Rishi kapur plays Rauf lala, a drug lord. Throughout the movie, Vijay struggles with his various relationships all the while trying to get to Kancha China.

WHATS GOOD: First of all Arish Bhiwandiwala the kid who plays 12 year old Vijay has performed better than any other character. Unlike other movies where the childhood scene is short, here the child almost gets an hour of screen time. Om Puri is great as always in the role of the aged super-cop. Sanjay Dutt has Awesome presence on screen and looks Huge. At times the audience cheers when he shows up. Rishi Kapur who is known as the cute, cuddly little romantic hero plays a convincingly menacing and disgust-invoking villain.

WHATS BAD: Hritik Roshan doesnt do what he does best- Dance. His credibility as a street-smart, tough guy, action hero is zero. Even While fighting he looks like he is dancing. I understand that he has massive shoes(literally) to fill but he just doesnt look convincing. None of the dialogues are worth mentioning. Sanjay dutt's dialogues dont make sense at all. Priyanka Chopra is so Awful that I dont even remember a single thing she says except something about how she wants to dress up so much that every man in the world will flirt with her. People cheer when she gets hurt. The movie is too long and seems to drag on forever. People cheered for Chikni Chameli but I find Katrina Kaif's Vibrating down right Weird. Like any Karan Johar movie, it has a lot of unnecessary Rona-Dhona. It makes you sad instead of bringing joy.

VERDICT: This is a poor man's replacement to the original 'Agneepath'. Quite frankly Hritik Roshan cant shine Amitabh Bachchan's shoes let alone fill them. Its not entirely a bad movie but most of the time it will bore you like hell and if you do goto see this movie make sure you have a decent supply of food because you may starve..!

MOVIE REVIEW: GHOST (BOLLYWOOD)

First things First, let me explain why I saw this movie. I went to the theatre wanting to see Blitz(ek Kaatil in hindi) but the guy at the ticket counter told us that no one wanted to see Blitz and so the show was cancelled.

That left us with Ghost. It sounds like a cheap attempt at a horror movie. Let me tell you how it went -

WHAT ITS ABOUT:
The movie is about a series of murders which take place in a hospital. Sayali Bhagat plays a doctor(really?). Shiney Ahuja plays a rapis... I mean a detective who tries to solve the mystery of the murders. No other notable actors there. As with any Hindi film, the love story is central to the plot. As the story goes on the mystery is unravelled(which is just Shiney Ahuja getting part of his memory back) he discovers the murders are connected to his own life.

WHATS GOOD:-
There are some scenes that are pretty scary like the Chudail walking with feet turned backwards. Lot of gore, blood, guts etc. Almost reminded me of Evil Dead. Sayali Bhagat is easy on the eyes.

WHATS BAD:-

The acting first of all is average at best. Everyone has acted pretty badly. Being a Hindi film, it gives the message "Flirt and let everything else goto hell." In one scene when Shiney Ahuja is investigating Sayali Bhagat, Sayali says "wo sab baad me, pehle coffee peete hai". Shiney Ahuja does absolutely nothing befitting a detective. The case just solves itself. The worst thing about this movie is its confusing plot. There is this one guy running around who is half Jesus and half Satan. I dont know what the hell he was doing in the movie and what they were trying to say with the movie. Definitely not a family movie. The music is horrible even by bollywood standards and dances even more so.

MY VERDICT: If want some scares, a lot of confusion and want to cry for the rest of your life for the money you spent on this movie then watch it.
